At the core if the Irish Chamber Orchestra’s operation is the belief that music can be a powerful instrument of social change, and one of its primary goals is to enrich lives through its Community Engagement Programme.
The ICO has extensive experience leading creative projects for children of all ages and abilities.
As the ICO moves forward it aims to deliver a targeted and strategic programme, which brings the experience of music directly into the every day lives of both children and adults.
At any one time the orchestra is involved in running a number of innovative projects.
The flagship is Sing Out With Strings - a groundbreaking scheme in which children at schools within the Limerick Regeneration areas are taught the violin within school time.
