WEDNESDAY 9 JULY 7.30pm Wayne Shorter is a legend. In the 1960s he achieved global fame as the creative powerhouse of Miles Davis’ extraordinary quintet – a group that redefined jazz. He then co-founded Weather Report whose revolutionary blend of jazz, latin, funk, and rock put improvised music back in the mainstream and changed the musical landscape forever. His current acoustic quartet – with bass superstar John Patitucci, pianist Danilo Perez and drummer Brian Blade - is widely regarded as the finest in the world.
The evening will culminate with the two groups uniting as a nine-piece ensemble – transcending genre and unleashing an improvisational genius Booking - 1890 923 543 |
